More than 24,000 NFC/contactless tags powered by *Connecthings are durably deployed on street furniture and in public spaces in European cities, in addition to hundreds of thousands of tags provided for commercial operations and through the www.nfctagstore.com website.
Multimodal contactless mobile services for Smart cities
*Connecthings mainly works with local authorities, MNO, banks, transport companies, retails and cultural institutions to implement encoded NFC tags giving access to a large range of contextual mobile services in functional areas, while respecting multimodality and interoperability. *Connecthings has references in seven out of the ten largest French cities and in three European countries.
An innovative platform for meeting all expectations: 8% of the connections made by NFC-enabled devices
The AdTag™ platform, engineered by Connecthings, allows to record and organize access, manage and publish content, and consolidate data collected thanks to reporting tools and statistics. Thanks to this innovative platform, contextual services are adapted to the end user’s profile, to the tag location and the support, to the type of device, and to time, date and period.
“According to our reporting tools, even if there is less than 1% NFC-enabled devices, it already represents about 8% of the connections. As the number of NFC Smart Phones is reported to double in 2012, there tends to be higher user appropriation of contactless mobile services”, says Laetitia Gazel Anthoine, CEO and founder of *Connecthings.
Known as a NFC expert, *Connecthings has developped a great application for the Quai Branly Museum in Paris.
On the occasion of a partnership with Orange, the Quai Branly Museum is offering a unique experience to visitors: trying a mobile application using exclusively NFC technologies (Near Field Communication) allowing the exchange of information at a very close distance.
Known as a NFC expert, this is *Connecthings who has been in charge of developing this application, whose main goal is to carry on improving the visit experience through new digital technologies within the Quai Branly Museum.
For this test phase, the mobile application offers to run across the backstage of the musical instruments preserve, through an interactive map, audio comments and a range of new interactive games. A fun tool to discover the secrets of an original structure and its associated jobs (curator, restorer, archivist)!
The application also focuses on four instruments present on the collections Floor to discover and get familiar with their different sounds.

Selected by La Poste, the French Post Office, among 150 companies, *Connecthings revealed its brand new service of Smart Mailbox set up in the 4th district of Paris.
The user can now interact with mailboxes on the street, thanks to his smartphone. Digital services offered are relevant, personified and real time: the time of collection, where to buy stamps around, where is the closest post office, is it open and how to get there.
*Connecthings also enhances the dimension of proximity, key to La Poste, by providing access to the cultural agenda of the district, a plan of the neighborhood, and even free local classified ads and check’in services.
The Lab Postal gathered 400 persons on November 22nd, 2011, at the headquarters of La Poste. 17 innovative start-up, considered strategic in creating differentiation in future products and services of La Poste, were presented. "This year for the third edition, we decided to focus on communicating objects, geolocalized services and general interest that are relevant to our consumers," says Bernard HAURI, Director of Innovation and E-services Development.
*Connecthings will be present at the conference LeWeb 11.
Come and meet us on the 7th morning on the booth of France !

*Connecthings has just won the request for proposal launched by the Urban Community of Strasbourg (UCS), which, as a “Territorial leader in contactless mobile technology”, gets its actions wider in the digital economy field, one of its main priorities.
In concrete terms, more than 400,000 people soon will be able to enjoy the contactless technology developed by *Connecthings, within three functional areas: transport and mobility, day-to-day life, and urban and touristic heritage.
*Connecthings has perfectly come up to the UCS expectations, by proposing the deployment of NFC tags and QR codes which will bridge all the areas: *Connecthings will soon provide 1,400 bus and trolley stops, 30 self-serve car terminals, 12 public car parks and 9 Relais-Tram car parks. As a result users will have access to contextualized services fitting their position. The multimodal solution offered by *Connecthings is going to give users the opportunity of dealing at the same time from their mobile phone with all the means of transportation around them and with the two other areas equipped with NFC tags and QR codes. By tapping the tag, they will have access to updated information provided by the UCS website and to the urban and touristic heritage geolocation close to their position.
Putting in place a long-lasting project in interaction with private and public organizations and citizens remains the first ambition of the UCS: this is all respected and shared by *Connecthings, who is proud to take part in the success of the first large-scaled deployment of contactless mobile services.

In 2010, Connecthings has successfully deployed thousands of NFC tags in the city of Nice. By tapping NFC tags, the end users get on their smartphones useful services as next buses real time information, multimedia guide about monuments and artworks in the Museum of Modern Art.
In order to keep the leadership among the contactless cities, Nice Côte d’Azur will deploy additional tags and new NFC services in the city. For this new deployment of services and NFC tags, Nice Côte d’Azur has selected Connecthings NFC tags and services management platform.
“Public authorities understand that the NFC tags and associated contents have to be organized and managed to offer useful and contextualized services. To deliver those pertinent services, Connecthings has developed a specific platform. To keep its NFC leader position, Nice Côte d’Azur trusts Connecthings again. We are very proud” said Laetitia Gazel Anthoine, founder and CEO of Connecthings.
