Connecthings was founded in 2007 by Laetitia Gazel Anthoine with the vision and intuition that smartphones will connect the physical world with the digital world.
Connecthings operates a global network of beacons (Bluetooth, NFC, QR code, Wi-Fi) in public spaces to transform passive urban points of contact and locations (street furniture, train stations, airports, public venues…) into smart, connected objects that communicate with the smartphones of citizens and visitors alike. The beacon network powers Connecthings’ Internet of Public Things SaaS platform.
Awarded by numerous smart city and innovation international prizes, Connecthings’ integrated Internet of Public Things platform contextualizes the beacon network to send the right information at the right time to mobile users – on all or parts of the beacon network, worldwide.
Connecthings’ services are up and running in 60 cities in Europe and in Rio de Janeiro, with +130 000 beacons connected in the urban space: this is the largest Internet of Public Things network worldwide.
Connecthings is headquartered in Paris and has offices in New York, Rio de Janeiro, Barcelona, Milan and Berlin.
