Connecthings takes part in Torino Smart City Living LAB

Torino Living Lab is Torino’s leading Smart City program to promote, develop and test new, innovative solutions in real urban environment.

In May 2016, 32 innovative projects - including Connecthings’ “Connect-TO” - were selected then fielded in the Campidoglio neighborhood - the first urban space, in Torino, dedicated to innovation and smart city initiatives. With Torino Living Lab, residents, private organizations and public sector have now the ability to explore and test products, technologies and services within a specific city area - hence evaluate usefulness and impact on residents’ quality of life.

Connecthings implemented its service “Connected Bus Stops » across Campidoglio in equipping bus stops with Bluetooth beacons. Powered by the beacon network, residents and visitors can now receive directly on their smartphones the real time schedules of GTT (Gruppo Torinese Trasporti) buses.

« Connecthings is very proud to be one of the key players of innovation at the service of Torino’s Smart City ambition. Torino is one the most active city in Europe when it comes to Smart City initiatives. In 2016, Torino was granted “iCapital” 2nd prize - an award created by the European Commission to acknowledge outstanding contribution in open innovation and emerging business model for urban life. » highlights David Victor, Sales Manager Italy, Connecthings.

An open-to-the-public presentation of Torino Living Lab first results will be held on December 5, 2016 in Torino.
